Beautifully furnished house with ground-floor entrance in a quiet pedestrian alley, and a stone's throw from the majestic bastions with views over Sliema and Marsamxett harbour. The city centre, museums, all the nightlife as well as the ferry to Sliema are a 3-5 minute walk away. Travel back in time to the era of the construction of Valletta nearly 500 years ago, while enjoying all the services you could need and want during your holiday in Malta! The space Recently renovated, this space is located in a quiet alley, nestled in the side streets of Valletta, offering you the ideal atmosphere for a peaceful getaway while remaining close to everything you could want during your stay. Aptly named Gunpost Suites, due to its strategic location in the capital, this holiday home was originally built by the British forces during the Second World War as a base to monitor the harbour. Upon entering the street-level entrance, one finds a dozen steps, the kitchen is fully equipped and in the living room one can find a double sofa bed. The kitchen also has a small balcony overlooking the alley. The bedroom is spacious, bright and airy, with an en-suite bathroom located at the end of the hallway. St Michael Street, or Triq San Mikiel as it is called in Maltese, is located between the Valletta ring road and West Street. Valletta is Malta's only planned city, with all its streets in a grid pattern. It will therefore be very easy to find your way around without thinking too much. West Street is only 4 parallel streets away from Strait Street, where there is a lively nightlife and some of the best cocktail and whisky bars in Malta. Republic Street is the longest street in the capital, stretching from City Gate to Fort St Elmo. On Republic Street, you will find many restaurants and shops, but also the majestic Grand Master's Palace (at the top of the list of places to visit) as well as the Maltese Parliament just after the City Gate. I will include a number of my favourite places in the guidebook. This property is licensed by the Malta Tourism Authority-HFP Comfort License no. HPI/7651 Guest access The holiday home will be exclusively yours for the duration of your stay. You will not share the space with anyone, except possibly a couple of chirping birds on the balcony! Other things to note Gunpost Suites is located in a residential area. You are free to come and go as you please but, out of respect for your holiday neighbours, please do not play music after 10 pm. The apartment is equipped with a smart lock. A 6-digit code is sent to you the day before your arrival, which will give immediate access after 3 pm on the day of check-in. The tourism authority tax of 50c per person per night (max €5 per person per stay) is already included in the Airbnb rate (under property usage taxes). No other taxes or charges will be collected during your stay. Check-in is at 3 pm and check-out is at 10 am.
